The CIT injections use needles that are tiny (similar to those used in anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler treatment) and using micro-needles the skin to create tiny, evenly-spaced puncture wounds on the skin. This process stimulates the body’s natural collagen production by generating a wound healing response – creating new collagen and elastin, which helps it plump up.

We ensure utmost precaution with hygiene and pain relief treatments such that minimal trauma when creating the microscopic punctures in the skin. However, topical local anaesthetic can be used to minimise discomfort. The downtime with this treatment is reasonably low recovery is between 24-72 hours.

PRP is developed by enriching blood with an autologous concentration of platelets. Preparation of PRP begins with whole blood which undergoes centrifugation to allow separation of the blood into 3 layers: platelet-poor plasma, PRP, and erythrocytes. Having a high concentration of growth factors, including platelet-derived growth factor, transforming growth factor, vascular endothelial growth factor, and epithelial growth factor. Because of the regenerative effects of these proteins, PRP has been investigated as a modality to augment wound healing in a variety of clinical areas.

WHO IS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY & PRP?

There are no major contraindications for Collagen Induction Therapy, and PRP is autologous – which means it comes from one’s own body. Therefore, in theory, we should all be good candidates for this combination of treatment if we want to improve the quality and appearance of our skin.

The body absorbs the product within 6 to 12 months and a repeat treatment is then required. PRP stimulates the body to create its own new collagen and tissue to create youthful volume and improve tone and texture. If can often be used in areas where dermal fillers are not safe.
